My name is Jenna Foley and I am a Southern California native and an aspiring social media professional. I currently attend the University of Oregon, completing a degree in Journalism and Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. I have experienced different mediums of public relations through a variety of professional elements.
I just finished a social media and marketing internship with the United States Olympic Committee. During my time with the USOC I created and produced content content during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. This content included creating graphics on Photoshop and After Effects, produced daily content, sponsor posts and live updates of the games to keep the fans engaged. This experience really expanded my knowledge as a social media professional.
I completed an internship with Bolt Public Relations, which included client work for Rubios, Avalon Salon and Spa, Smashburger and AirFit. I used the software, Cision, to create media lists for various clients. I designed fliers and created invite lists for different events. I pitched to the media about cross-promotions and events going on in the community. During this internship I learned more about media relations which helped me create a better understanding of public relations.
This summer, while working at the USOC I became inspired by all the athletes. So, I decided that I am going to train for a triathlon in spring. It’s been pretty hard, but it will only get easier from here!
I love snowboarding, the beach, but most of all I love my Ducks!
