If you’re an upperclassman PR student in college, or even just graduated, campaigns is probably the most important aspect of public relations that you have learned about.

And guess what, it’ll probably be the most important part of your job. BUT, if you can compile a great campaign for your client, you are going to be in top notch shape!

Social media campaigns are rising high. Social media is a way for companies to reach an audience further than an advertisement or traditional public relations. According to Brand Watch, social media users have grown by 176 million in the last YEAR. That is incredible. It is a rare occasion when you hear that someone never uses social media.

So, if you want some inspiration here are some of the best social media campaigns of 2015 & 2016.

TOMS is an amazing organization. If you didn’t know, they are a show company. For every pair of shoe that is sold, TOMS donates a pair to a child in need. Every year in May, TOMS uses a social media campaign using the #WITHOUTSHOES. The organization does this to raise awareness for children’s health and education. Last year, TOMS donated over 27,000 shoes to children in 10 different countries. So, why does TOMS (a shoe company) want you to not wear or advertise it’s shoes for a day? Because it’s pure genius! The company wants you to feel like one of those children that doesn’t own a pair of shoes, so you donate and buy more of the shoes! Here is some more information, if you are interested about the campaign (which you should be, because it’s awesome.)

Overall, social media campaigns are SO cool. It is a way for someone to get creative by sending out powerful messages to massive amount of people. Not saying that creating social media campaigns are easy, because they are very, VERY hard. But, if you create an amazing one, it can go viral in a matter of minutes.
